Salerno

Hello. Does anyone have any suggestions for a family of four (children 12 and 10) in Salerno in early Sept. 4 nights. Looking into Villas or apartments for a great authentic feel and aesthetic. Was looking at Praiano and Sorrento originally, but someone mentioned Salerno is a great spot as a hub on AC.

Would love to find a place with a private balcony with a jacuzzi or pool. so many places to look at and I am not sure which are reputable. All the pics look great online.

Thank you in advance.

From your earlier post, I think your goal is to explore the Amalfi Coast and Capri.

If that’s so, and you have 4 or 5 nights to spend in the area, I would stay in Amalfi (town).

Amalfi is the transportation hub of the Amalfi Coast so you can easily and affordably to get to the other AC towns from Amalfi by bus or ferry and you don’t spend time commuting to back to Salerno or Sorrento plus if you stay in Salerno or Sorrento you’ll miss the mornings and evenings in the AC towns which are nice before and after the day trippers leave.

From Amalfi you can take the ferry to Capri.

I’ve visited the AC as a day tripper (from Sorrento) and staying in Amalfi (town), and hands down staying in Amalfi is the better option over day tripping.

Two weeks ago, we stayed at B&B Palazzo dei Velieri Lungomare Trieste, 38, Salerno. We booked with booking.com. The photos are accurate. Two huge double bedrooms and one single bedroom. Definitely an authentic building, but no terrace, or view. It wasn’t perfect. The bathroom was a bit awkward.

Great location next to Piazza della Concordia for ferry tickets. Across the road from the promenade for the evening passeggiata.
We took almost empty ferries from Salerno to Maori, Minori and Amalfi town. Obviously the ferries will be busier in September.

We loved Salerno and will stay for a month on our next trip.
