The Ustica Lines hydrofoil from Trapani to Naples departs three or four times per week from June 1 through Sept. 30 only, at 6:30 a.m.!!!!! The one-way fare is a whopping 89.40 Euros.

A cheaper and perhaps saner alternative would be to go to Palermo and take the overnight car ferry to Naples operated by Tirrenia or SNAV, which gets you into Naples early the next morning. In Naples, you can very easily and quickly transfer to a hydrofoil or ferry to Capri.

There is a SALEMI lines bus from Salemi to Palermo, Monday through Friday at 8:35 a.m., arriving 10:15 a.m. There is also an earlier bus at 6:20 a.m. (arrival Palermo 8:00 a.m.) which operates Monday through Saturday. You would have nearly a full day in Palermo for sightseeing before the ferry departs in the early evening.

There's summer service from Trapani to Naples on Ustica Lines and then you could ferry to Capri from Naples.

If you go to Palermo and spend the day sightseeing, you could leave your luggage at the Left Luggage at the ferry terminal or at the train station.

Once in Palermo, you could also fly to Naples and take the Alibus from the airport to the port for the ferry to Capri.
