Saint Peter’s Basilica

Can anyone clarify if St Peter’s Basilica is closed all day on Wednesdays in the summer or does it open at 12:30 instead of 7am like other days? Or, is it dependent on whether there is a mass scheduled. If so, how would I find out if it is open on June 7th?

It's never closed all day on Wednesdays unless for a special event. This from the (usually reliable) Catholic Traveler:

https://thecatholictraveler.com/guides/rome/churches/saint-peters-basilica/

"Saint Peter’s Basilica is open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., every day of the year. The exception being on days of Papal Masses and when the Wednesday Audience is held in Saint Peter’s Square. When there is a morning Papal event in the basilica or in the piazza, the church opens a few hours after the conclusion of the event. When there is an evening Papal event in the basilica or piazza, the basilica closes a few hours before the event."

According the Pope's current schedule, the only event on June 7 is the normal Wed. 9:00 AM general audience, illness or other unexpected reason for his inability to address his flock aside.

So yes, I'm sure you'd be fine at 12:30 or so.
