We plan to do a half day stop in Pisa on our way from Florence to CT. This is the only time we have luggage in the vehicle while sightseeing. That also includes an expensive laptop that hubby needs to give a presentation at a conference in Rome. We'll have a car with a hatchback but most likely too much luggage (for 4 people incl. business attire) to hide it all under the cover. Any suggestions as to where to park the car safely?
There is a parking lot within walking distance of the Leaning Tower. Did not cost us anything when we parked last year. It is where the buses park and is not hard to find and should be relatively safe. I don't suppose any parking place is completely safe but we felt good leaving our car there. We were able to hide most of our items in the hatchback trunk so not much was visible.
This is something we all struggle with when we travel by car and want to see something during the day with all our things in the car. There are really no perfect solutions, unfortunately. You can take everything with you that you absolutely gotta have to complete your trip and can't replace. Or just tell yourself it's a gamble with the odds in your favor and trust to luck.
