Traveling to Italy in December 2015. Ideas for a place to stay in and around Naples would be appreciated. Two adults no children.

I'm guessing you don't have the Rick Steves Italy 2015 book. I can't recommend it strongly enough. Lots of info on lodging including in Naples along with a lot more information you don't even realize you should be asking about.

Very nice and adjacent to the central train station. Good rates too.

You don't say whether you're just looking for a place for one night on the way to/from the train station or airport, or whether you're looking for something for several nights because you're going to sightsee in Naples. Recommendations will be different depending on your needs.
