Sacro Bosco & Other Oddities

Hey Gang...anyone have any feedback on Sacro Bosco Sculpture Park or any other uniquely interesting places to visit just a short car ride from Southeast Florence? Thanks in advance!

I would recommend:
- Pitigliano, carved into volcanic tuff rock
- Villa di Mondegi, a renaissance villa turned into a community-run farm

The park of "monsters" is in a beautiful location and tourism impacts are fairly minimal. Definitely worth a visit, and indeed we intend to return in the future. Bomarzo itself is an interesting small town, at least in part, allowing you to get intimately acquainted with it. It also enjoys lovely vistas, being on a hill. The people are quite friendly, but of course this is Italy so that's usually a given. In case you haven't read about it yet, an Etruscan "pyramid" was discovered on the outskirts of town in the 1990s, just a relatively short hike into the forest from the center of Bomarzo. It is one-of-a-kind for all of Italy, if not Europe. We quite enjoyed both hiking through the woods and climbing the "pyramid", and here's a link to explain it further:
