I am taking a "sabbatical" to change careers and want to spend a month or so traveling in Italy/Paris. Any ideas on how I can do this inexpensively? Can you advise of any accomodations and itineararies? Also, thinking about going in April 09. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Minimize the number of destinations for overnight stays and try to get apartments. They can be cheaper than hotels but usually have minimum nights stays. Do day trips. Use the grocery stores and eat the buik of your meals at home.
