We will be travelling from Florence to Assisi on a Saturday. Found out that only RV trains run for this sector. Since there is no seat reservation and we have luggage, would like to know the peak hours for Saturday commutes. Would it be better for us to take the morning 8am train or the noon time or afternoon 2pm train? Hope someone could help advise. Thank you.
The 2pm will have more people. Mainly commuters going back to the Valdarno and Arezzo. Most government workers work 6 hours a day Mon-Sat and get off at around 1:30pm/2pm. Most high schools and University classes also are 8:30am-1:30pm Mon to Sat.
The 8am train is mostly in the reverse commute direction (in the morning the trains are full going to Florence) but may have visitors going to Arezzo (or even Umbria) for the weekend but probably not too many.
Ah. So there is work and school till 130pm on Saturdays. Good to know that. Thank you so much for the info!
The trains originate at Florence S.M.N. so get there early when the train is spotted o the platform and you will be the first to board the train and get seats and luggage storage.
