RS tour in Rome during Easter

Hello fellow travellers! Has anyone been on the Florence, Venice and Rome tour that coincides with being in Rome over the Easter holiday? Just wondering how that experience will differ from the itinerary on the website. Any special extras? Any sights not accessible, or dropped from the itinerary? Thanks for your responses!

Alleyo, you might want to repost this under Tips and Trip Reports. (Next column over.) There's a section headed "Rick Steves Tours" in which you might get more results.

We are planning an independent trip along the same time frame and I can tell you that museums and sights have limited closings for the holiday. From what I have researched, a few sites (churches) stay open on the Sunday of Easter and since so many museums are closed on Monday anyway, the Easter Monday holiday really isn't much difference.

We were told that crowds are higher in Rome especially from Ash Wednesday through Easter Monday. Because we are traveling with 3 children, we kept this in mind when planning transit, etc.
