RS Rome tour that includes the Coloseum and the Forum

Hi all - We will be taking the Venice, Florence and Rome RS Tour. This is our first trip to Italy.

For those who have taken this tour we're confused what we will have access to the morning at the Coloseum.

Will we need advance tickets for any part of the Coloseum visit that the RS Tour does not include. The itinerary is not clear about this.

Thank you for your advise.

We are also considering the Baths of Caracalla. Any thoughts?

As CL suggested, contact the RS tour office. They will give you the most accurate info for your tour.

The "What's included" text for this tour states, "Colosseum (exterior)". Text of the itinerary for Day 9 states, "...we take a walking tour around the outside of the larger-than-life Colosseum..." and "You'll be free this afternoon to visit the inside of the Colosseum on your own..." So, you'll only see the exterior on the tour.

Yes, you definitely will need advance tickets to access the interior on your own later in the day.

This is the official informational website for the Colosseum; it's usually only 'up' for those of us in North America during the hours, Rome time, the monument is open:

The official ticketing site is separate and 'up' 24/7:

@OP - would you share what you learned about your particular tour from the RS staffer? Just asking in case anyone is searching the forum in the future and that might point them in the right direction.
