RS Book Discounts?

Our hotel requires us to have our RS Book in hand to get the RS discount. Are they going to care that we've ripped up our book (as suggested!) to fit in our suitcase? I purchased the RS temporary cover and binder to carry the individual sections that we need.

That's something that the RS staff should be able to answer. I don't often travel with hard copy guidebooks anymore, so I rarely ask for discounts. I doubt that any discounts are possible with E-books so I don't bother asking.

You could ask them if they will care. Maybe an email.

They may have a better idea of what they will accept than we would - after all we have absolutely no clue which hotel you mean nor even which city.

Ask at the horse's mouth would be my advice....

I stayed at a b&b in Florence that offered a discount with the book. They only cared that we had it. They didn't care if pages were ripped out.

I used the discount in Cesky Krumlov and only had it on my iPad. No problem. Why not email the hotel and check with them directly.

i usually mention it when booking the initial reservation, if there is a free space, or else reply when the hotel sends a confirmation. Sometimes a discount, sometimes an upgrade. I rip my book up, too.
