Planning a trip to Cinque Terre in April, and I'm getting lots of conflicting reports from travelers on where to stay. I'm looking for a room with air conditioning, a private bath, and a decent sized bed-doesn't have to be fancy, just clean. Any suggestions?

Debbie, Have a look in the Italy Guidebook, as that has listings for several properties in Vernazza. You could also check savevernazza.com/visiting-vernazza/ as that has listings for most of the lodgings in town. Their respective websites will have details on the amenities they offer.

We stayed in Vernazza on our trip and loved it..Our contact was Enrica at Memo Rooms. She was wonderful. Met us at the train station. We did not actually stay in Memo Rooms because we stayed in a room at her parents house on the harbor. Beautiful view..The places are not Hiltons but they are charming. She is reputable business woman that takes very good care of her guest. We could not have been more pleased..Vernazza is charming and even more so at night..
