We're going to Italy in less than 1 week (!) and have reservations at Locanda Silva in Venice, and Hotel Modigliani in Rome. Both are listed favorably in Rick's guidebook, just wondering if anyone has any personal experience at either place? The good, bad and ugly??
I have not been to either hotel, but did stay at another Rick recommended hotel in Rome, and other cities and have never been disappointed.

Stayed at Hotel Modigliani in Rome. Really enjoyed it. They made some wonderful suggestions for dinner and made reservations for us too. They ordered our cab to the train station and it arrived as scheduled. On a very small street. Have the address and phone # printed out for the cab driver to find it if coming from the train station. For some reason, the cab cost more to the hotel from the train station then to the train station. Did the hop on and off bus tour. They had info in the lobby and a pick up point was not too far away. We found out about it in our Karen Brown book.
