Room suggestions in Venice and Naples

I need a room in Venice next week for a couple nights. I am alone and don't want to spend a fortune. Also taking the train to Naples. Suggestions for there or stops between worth seeing.

I travel alone and also don't want to spend a fortune on lodging, so i use:
www.bedandbreakfast.it
Click on Cerca (search)
Type in Venezia
Then you'll see a choice between ordering the scroll by price or points of
Interest.
For price, the list scrolls from cheapest to highest.
For Venice you can choose, for example, among many Vaporetti stops, and the list will scroll from low to high KM distance from that stop.

You may see prices in Doppia, just click on that post to check for price in Singola, some just have doubles, but many have singles and weekly prices listed in detail on their description page.

Click on Cerca for Napoli,
Order the scroll by price or place in Napoli,
Click on post for Singola price.

Send the email query in English or Italian. Let me know if you want more help with this site. It's my GoTo!
Tip: Prices are in low season/high season format, i always ask for a Singola for the low season price and usually get it, it being October I'd think you should get low season price.

You might also want to check out monasterystays.com, which lists and allows you to book rooms in religious houses that support themselves this way.

Just go on www.booking.com and filter by price (and any other factors you're looking for). Nice areas in Naples are around the waterfront, Chiaia district, and Vomero (on the hill).

For a safe, basic clean room with a private bathroom, try hotel Tivoli in Venice. It's near Frari Church and San Toma (I think, boat stop). I have stayed here and would do so again.
