Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel or B&B in walking distance
from Rome Termini Station for early Sept-looking in the $150-200/nite range
for a double-thanks in advance.

We like the Aberdeen. https://www.hotelaberdeen.it/en/ Last year for an en suite double we paid €145, breakfast included.

We have used Aberdeen twice and Sonya four time. Wife prefers Sonya because the lattes are better. ---- If so, the margin is slim. Sonya is closer to Termini. Nice area across from the Opera house. A bit more spartan but OK is Hotel Contilla -- just out the south door of Termini. Big advantage is the self laundry across the street from the hotel. Breakfast is so/so. We use Contillia for a quick one night when catching the train the next day. Probably the cheapest of the three hotels listed here.

We stayed here before and after a Mediterranean cruise. Nice breakfast.

I have stayed at Hotel Sileo many times and it is featured proximately in the RS guidebooks. It's a no frills place but is charming and an easy walk from the train station.
