At very short notice, the room I had rented in Venice was not available. Am now looking for a reasonably priced place around 50 to 60 Euros. Alittlr more if its on a canal. A guesthouse or BnB will also do. Any suggestions are very very welcome. Am solo woman traveller elderly so am getting a little "panic..ed"!!

Try Gli Angeli (Sonia). Do a search and the info will shop up. It was a very nice B&B away from the tourist area and about a 10 minute walk from the main part of Venice.

Try this website www.cross-pollinate.com It is a bed and breakfast booking company for Rome, Florence and Venice. I have used them before and they are owened and operated by an American family living in Rome. They are quite reasonable. Have fun!!!

Try Hotel Diana. It is a CHOICE HOTEL, part of a US chain.
Very comfortable and reasonable. Best location for a walk and since you are alone, safe.
