rome with children

hi,

I will be visiting Rome with 4 children...without my husband...just me and the kids...two will have a stroller as they are not able to walk all day long...I am wondering...how do I go about leaving my strollers outside as we tour the Vatican, sistine chapel, etc...I asume you are not able to bring them in...any ideas...??

You will be able to check strollers at the coat/baggage check. Most of the major museums don't let you carry in large items including book bags or even camera bags. The check is good for anything you don't want to lug around the museum.
I do hope your other 2 children are old enough to give you some help and relief along the way......
Buona Fortuna!!

Some museums will let you come in with the stroller, and I don't think the Vatican will give you a hard time either--a single woman with four children! Italians really go out of their way when children are involved. In any case, if they don't let you bring it in, there will be a place to check it.

You can take a stoller into the Vatican and Sistine Chapel, you may have to go down stairs with the stoller. We had our daughter in a stoller there and a guard actually allowed us to sneak in a quicker way around the vatican museum so it can be to your advantage to have one ;) You can not take the stoller into to St. Peter's though.
