Rome - Venice- florence - Rome

On arrival in Rome, should I buy a train ticket and head to Venice. Or should I stay in Rome for a day before travel to Venice. Will arrive in Rome at 0700 in the morning.

I would go on to Venice. Chances are, your hotel room either place may not be ready until 3 pm. You might as well be traveling and sleeping as you go.

Are you coming back to Rome to take your flight back home? If so, then go to Venice right away. You will save a hotel change that way. There is about a train every hour from Rome to Venice. At 10:08 there is even one departing directly from the airport. You will be in Venice just after 2pm, which is generally the check in time at Italian hotels.

Trenitalia is showing the direct train from Fiumicino at 11:08, arriving Venezia S. Lucia at 15:35. Assuming you land on time, go through passport control and get your luggage in a timely manner, it might be worth waiting at the airport for this train. Otherwise you can change trains at Termini and get there an hour sooner.
Per your other threads, I'd stay in Venice 2 nights to get a better feel for the place as the first day is liable to be a bit of a waste due to the long flight.
