Hi Globe Travelers, my next question on our Italian vacation---what neighborhoods do you recommend for a weeks stay in Rome (probably in a VRBO or something similar)-----local restaurants, cafes, shops etc. with the ability to walk and visit sites but not in the complete hustle and bustle. Thanks for all your input Greg
Look at Prati. It is on the Vatican side of the river but north of the Vatican it is quite residential. Well-connected by bus, tram, Metro and quite walkable to the historical center around Piazza Navona.
Another vote for Prati. While it's a bit of a walk to the southernmost attractions from there, we enjoyed both the neighborhood and our treks back and forth (but yes, we could have taken bus, tram or metro had we wanted to.)
We’re choosing to stay in Campo for our trip. It’s smack dab in the middle of the Colosseum, Borghese, Vatican and Trastevere. Maybe equidistant is a better way to put it
Kev, Campo's a good central location for attractions but not if the OP wants something away from "hustle and bustle" IMHO.

Just curious, did you change your hotel? You'd posted last month that you were staying "on the very northern edges of Celio, to the east of the Colisseum." That's some distance from Campo de' Fiori.
We’re choosing to stay in Campo
It is Campo de' Fiori. Calling it "Campo" can be confusing. There is the Campo in Firenze, for example. IT's best not to shorten names of streets and other places lest you get bad directions or otherwise confuse yourself or others.
