We would like to take an Underground tour in Rome this summer. Has anyone taken one of these tours and which company did you use, did you like them, was it worth it?

Which underground tour are you talking about? There are several including the Scavi tour at St. Peter's, the colosseum underground and the tour under San Clemente. Can you be more specific? Donna

If your talking about the Colosseum tour, I took it in March, it was definitely interesting. There is a long long post on this topic under my name back around March 22-23, 2011. I posted on the day of our visit and alot of people posted on there as well with lots of info too, for the personal tours that cost around 30E or the tour I did for 9.50E each and covered underground and the third tier. I'm sure once your more specific people can give you more info...

I'd like information about the San Clemente tour and information on the tour guides that led these tour. I did see all the previous posts about the underground Colosseum tour and we will be booking that tour.

You would have to book a private company to tour San Clemente. You might want to email several companies to see if they do this tour. Donna

Kathy, we just did the Underground Tour in Rome last week with Through Eternity Tours. It was great! Ian was our tour guide and he was extremely knowledgeable and gave us great historical background before and doing our tour. Great experience.
