It looks like there will be a strike with no times given. I was planning on the RS Heart of Rome walk our first day on November 9th. Our hotel is near the Pantheon and we planned on taking a taxi to the start of the RS audio tour and a taxi at the end. The person I am traveling with is a older senior. It looks like taxis will not be available because of the strike. How strenuous is this walk? We may do the Trevi first and then start at Campo de’ Fiori.
We were just in Rome and stayed near the Pantheon also. The walk is not too bad its just all those cobble stones and very busy and TIGHT streets with all the cars and tourists. Its doable.
The Trevi could be a letdown. Getting ready for Jubilee Year it is enclosed in cover (pay to peek from what I understand) and drained of water. Sorry
The November 8-9 local transportation strike is nationwide and will idle local buses, trams, trolleys and metro trains in cities throughout Italy.
A private taxi service called “Rome By Car” will not be on strike. Their website is www.RomaByCar.com
