Some route maps indicate that Tram #8 ends at Largo Argentina while others indicate that it ends at Piazza Venezia. We want to take a tram from the Victor Emmanuel Monument in Piazza Venezia to the Arenula/Cairoli stop. Is it possible to take Tram #8 from Piazzza Venezia, or do we need to go to Largo Argentina to get Tram #8? Thanks so much for your help!

This is a transport map of your inquiry https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Altar+of+the+Fatherland,+Piazza+Venezia,+00186+Roma+RM,+Italy/Arenula%2FCairoli,+00186+Roma+RM,+Italy/@41.8930176,12.474508,16z/am=t/data=!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x132f604d1b805de3:0x21154807a7b83fe1!2m2!1d12.4831269!2d41.8945976!1m5!1m1!1s0x132f604ecc16d051:0x2c297fd15eb7f762!2m2!1d12.4763198!2d41.8942782!3e3
This may have info you need - https://www.rome.net/tram - "...best line for travellers is perhaps number 8, which links Trastevere with Largo di Torre Argentina."
Also this: https://europeforvisitors.com/rome/transportation/rome-trams.htm - "Line 8 connects Torre Argentina, in the historic center, with the popular nightlife district of Trastevere. The trams stop at Trastevere's railroad station, where commuter trains run to Fiumicino Airport and the cruise port of Civitavecchia."

Simply put, yes. It is not a long distance, though. Very walkable.
It looks to be an 8-10 minute walk ( per google)
Unless you have a special reason, walking seems the easier solution vs a tram
Another vote just to walk it unless there's a specific reason why you want to take the tram (mobility challenges?). It's not that far between points, and I would make a stop at Largo Argentina along the way to take a look at the Area Sacra excavation.
The tram #8 line has now been completed and starts it's run in Piazza Venezia. The Largo Argentina stop has been closed and paved over. With your back to the Victor Emmanuel Monument main stairs, the tram stop will be to your left on the far side of the busy street. If you look at Google Maps for Piazza Venezia, it's the transit stop named Venezia. I've used the #8 tram from that stop many times, so I'm speaking from experience.
Edit: For anyone wanting to take the #8 tram from Largo Argentina to Trastevere, there's a stop just a short walk along Via Arenula, the street leading to Trastevere.
Anybody with a map or webpage saying to get that tram at Largo Argentina has old information.
The rerouting happened several years ago
Just to be clear (if I wasn't) I meant that the OP should stop at Largo Argentina (Area Sacra) if WALKING between Piazza Venezia and the Arenula/Cairoli stop.
