Rome Tours in September?

We are visiting Rome for 5 days in Sept and would like to know what tours, if any, are the best to take? Also would the RomaPass help us skip the lines at the Vatican, the Borghese Gallery, or Coliseum? Would you recommend taking the Friday Evening tour of the Vatican & Cistine Chapel? Any Roma tips would be greatly appreciated as this is our first visit! Grazie!

If you're interested in a wonderful private tour guide in Rome, I recommend high Francesca Caruso. She really was wonderful, speaks perfect English...even my teenagers enjoyed the time with her. You can email her at francescainroma@gmail.com

The romapass is not valid at the Vatican but you can use it for entry to the Borghese gallery and the colosseum. The evening tours of the Vatican museums tend to be less crowded and cooler than doing them during the day. You can book these directly through the Vatican website. http://biglietteriamusei.vatican.va/musei/tickets/do?weblang=en&do For the colosseum you can book a guided tour or a tour of the underground and upper level. They are not offering the underground tour online yet but you can call them to book it. 011 39 0639967700 Let them know if you'll be using the romapass for entry so they don't charge you for it. For the forum I would suggest an audio guide so you can go at your own pace. I like the ones from pocketvox but there are others on the web you can download. For the Borghese gallery you'll have to call to make the reservation if using the romapass. They have a wonderful audio guide of the gallery that you can rent. Tel. +39 06 32810 For the romapass, buy it once you get to Rome. It's only valid for 3 days so use it wisely. Donna
