We have the luck to be able to choose between Marta Marsili and Sonia Tavoletta as they are both available for our dates. We wish to visit Ancient Rome (Colosseum, PH, Forum) and Houses of Augustus and Livia. Has anyone toured with either? I frankly don't know whom to choose as both are well respected and would appreciate personal recommendations.

When I was planning our family trip for last June, Sonia was not available for our days and we ended up touring with Marta. We spent two half days with her: a few hours in Ostia Antica, and on another day a few hours touring the Colosseum, Forum and PH, plus the Basilica de San Clemente. I would highly recommend her. She kept all of us (my two young adult daughters, my in-laws, my husband and I) engaged and informed both days and she was open to the many questions that our group of six peppered her with. We toured San Clemente for about an hour and a half before moving on to Ancient Rome, and it was my personal favorite of all the amazing sites we visited in our five days in Rome. I don't believe I would have felt that way had we not visited that site with Marta. Have a great trip!
