Rome Tour

We land around 11am and staying in Pantheon area (July 4th) - Thursday. We will have that afternoon/evening and then a full day on July 5th (Friday). July 6th we will head to Positano. Then head back to Rome July 11th staying overnight for our flight. Obviously Rome in 1 day is pretty tough. Does this seem doable for afternoon we arrive into the evening:

1st afternoon/evening
Pantheon
Spanish Steps
Trevi Fountain
Piazza Navona
Piazza Venezia

Full Day:
Vatican
Colosseum

Hi owned,

If you don't have a restaurant in mind for Trastevere, a few people on the forum have been to and liked
http://darpoeta.com/

This is The Roman Guy - Neighborhood Series - Trastevere https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v75H2alRIW4
Maybe something in the video will spark an interest.

Also, take a look at this https://www.rometoolkit.com/walks/rome_walks.html - There are some suggestions for self walking tours. A lot of the main attractions on your list are within 10 minutes or so from each other (except the Vatican)

Do you already have tour/timed entry booked for both Vatican and Colosseum?

Highly recommended Walks of Italy Pristine Sistine.
It is a long morning, we were not leaving St. Peter’s til close to 1:00 pm

Not sure if you can fit a Colosseum tour after that but suppose you could just get timed entry tix and do it on your own or with audio guide but I wouldn’t plan to be at Colosseum til 2:00 pm at earliest.

Might think about Colosseum on arrival afternoon then dinner in Trastevere.
Save the historic walk for after Vatican visit. (RS Heart of Rome Walk or can do. It’s of that walk on each day, you are staying right along the “route, very easy to see those sights.

I just remember being exhausted after both our Vatican visit and the Colosseum tour, I’d try to split those between your 2 days.

We land into Rome at 10am. My fear is Jet Lag but I’m hoping I can push through and maybe back to the hotel for a nap after lunch before evening.

Here's another idea-
Do the Walks of Italy Fri night Vatican tour
https://www.walksofitaly.com/vatican-tours/vatican-night-tour/

Get to St Peter's by 4:30/5ish- if you are visiting there as well? And if you can stay awake thru about 10 pm! It is going to be "hotter than Dutch love" as my grandma used to say. See the Pantheon, nearby churches, P Navonna, Trevi, Campo de' Foiri etc- the first half of RS Heart of Rome Walk as soon as you are checked in to hotel- go back to your hotel to refresh and cool off- then walk over to St. Peter's and visit on your own- have a quick dinner nearby then do the Vatican night tour.

That leaves the entire next day open so you can do a morning Colosseum tour and rest of your sights that 2nd afternoon.

If you do book with Walks of Italy I am pretty sure they offer a discount for multiple tours and possibly a Rick Steves discount as well- email them and ask.

We have actually found we do better if we do take a very quick nap on arrival- if we can get into our room and we have been lucky every time- set an alarm- 75-90 min, change/shower if you need to then out for the evening. It just works best for us. Everyone is different.

Thanks Christine!! More researching to do!! Our hotel is literally across from Patheon so that is easy.

oh - never mind- You would have to do Colosseum tour on Fri am since you are leaving Sat am- but that could work too. Colosseum tour in am- get a break if you need one, then Vatican at night

Walks of Italy has a 10 am tour- I'd probably do that so wouldn't have to get up at the crack of dawn on your first day- that can be difficult.
