Rome to Venice travel

Can someone tell me if Italo or Trenitalia is better, or if there is a preferred way to travel from Rome to Venice? I am looking for most cost effective and most straight forward way.

Both run multiple fast direct( no changes) trains every day
Both are comparable IMO

Choose whichever suits your budget and fits your schedule

They both run fast direct trains between Rome and Venice, and they are very similar in cost, schedules, and overall experience. Sometimes Italo offers better specials. And I find the Italo website to be more user-friendly, and the booking process much easier. I spent a very frustrating hour yesterday booking a Frecce (fast) train on Trenitalia for our September trip, so I am a bit opinionated right now.

It is not so much confusing (I have figured most things out, after 10 years of using the site), just difficult and obstinate.

Often it will not accept my login to my account, even tho I know I am entering it correctly. So I have wait, or try a different device, or even change my password—-to what it already is. Then I was proceeding through the booking process, selected “choose our own seats”, did that (there were lots of seats available on the map’, then hit continue and it said the train was sold out and no seats are available.

Waited and started over; same result. Waited and tried again, this time with success. So we have our tickets and the seats we want, but it wasn’t easy.

great to know you figured it out, the one thing I noticed on Trenitalia even though I have it set as English, some things are still presented in Italian which can make it very confusing.

Yes, that is true. The city names always have to be in Italian.
