Rome to Sorrento by Hydrofoil

This will be my first time to Italy. A friend mentioned taking a hydrofoil from Rome to Sorrento as they way to go. Sounds perfect, but how do I get to the Hydrofoil dock and does anyone know how long the trip takes by boat?

First you would need to take a train from Rome to Naples. Then either a bus or a taxi from the train station to the port. Then a hydrofoil to Sorrento. See this page for more information. If the weather isn't conducive to a hydrofoil ride, take a Circumvesuviana commuter train from the Napoli Centrale train station to Sorrento.
