I was wondering the best way to get from Rome to Positano. I figured we should take the train to Naples, but wondered if we should take a boat from there (and if so, do we need to transfer vessels?), or if it would be best to take a bus. Thanks in advance for your help!
There are a few ways to do this. Rome/Naples on Trenitalia (2hrs). Naples/Sorrento on the private Circumvesuviana train system (1.15hrs.). SITA bus to Positano (1.15hrs.). Or, from Naples, you can catch the high-speed hydrofoil to Sorrento. However, it's a bit of a trip to get from the train station to the hydrofoil dock.
