The tours available go to other areas near Pompeii. We would just like to go to the ruins. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks.

You can DIY by taking a fast train to Naples then change to the local Circumvesuviana train to Pompeii Scavi
There are licensed guides for hire at the entrance

Judithann, 2 days ago on another thread you'd recommended the Tour Guy's Rome to Pompeii and Sorrento tour to another poster as your "daughter and I are taking this after a couple of days in Rome". You didn't already book it?
