Rome to Paris with Tuscany stopover

We are flying into Rome where we'd like to stay 3 nights then spend 2 nights somewhere in Tuscany, then will need to catch a flight to Paris. Any practical transportation advice? We don't want to rent a car but we are willing to stay in one town, maybe Montecatini. How difficult would it be to get to an airport where we can fly to Paris?

Personally, I'd spend longer in Tuscany than in Rome. Check Easyjet and Ryanair flights out of Pisa into Paris.
