Hi. Two of us plan to travel by train from Rome to Naples on December 8, 2024 in the morning but we're not sure if that is a good idea given it is a national holiday and a Sunday. This is the best day but we could probably change to December 7 in the evening if that would be better. Thoughts?
Hi and welcome to the forum -
You shouldn't have any issues. I'm seeing lots of tickets available on both the Trenitalia and Italo websites for that date. If you see some for a nice price - there are usually some available for a reduced price if purchased in advance - you could go ahead and book them. Just read the details about change-ability/refundability if for some reason you'll miss the train you're booked for; not all tickets allow either of those things.
Your departing station in Rome is likely to be Roma Termini (its most central train station) and your arrival station in Naples will be Napoli Centrale.

Thanks, Kathy! I'm not so worried about availability of tickets, but more concerned about getting to and from stations on this major holiday. Do you think that could be a problem or should I just not worry about it?
