We are going to Monterosso from Rome in late August. In looking at time schedules on Trenitalia there seem to be few and long options. If looking at a Tuesday schedule in June, there is a train from Rome at 6 am that is non-stop to La Spezia, then pick up the local train to Monterosso. This option is not available in late August schedule. Is this train not available because it is to early in the schedule? It would be the perfect option, so just wondering.

Hi JR. There is a quirk in Italian train schedules that the trains after mid June aren't loaded in to their computer system until very late. The schedule for August will be very similar to what you are seeing now for May and early June. Just check back every few days, and the schedule for August will be gradually (or suddenly) updated. Enjoy your trip!
