Hi Linda; I believe the High speed train from Rome to Milan takes about 3 hours and costs about 100 Euros. May want to check out this site.. http://www.italiarail.com/ We booked a half day tour in Milan thru Expedia, which included the Last Supper, La Scala and the Duomo, I think the tour is about $50. There is an excellent sub way system in Milan once you figure it out! Have a great trip.

Last year I gave up on getting tickets from the museum itself and went through a booking company. In fact, I "committed" to two of them, hoping one would come through, and that is exactly what happened: One had tickets for me and the other came up empty. I had success wiht http://www.milan-museum.com. Looks to be 43.50 euros for two right now. Yes, it's a lot of money, but if you only have one chance and you are in Milano, go with the sure thing. I could have been stuck with two sets of tickets since I signed up with two booking agents, but I figured I could always sell the extra tickets. :-) The train from Rome to Milan was about 3 hours and a very nice trip on the fastest train there is, the Frecciarosso. Do you have Rick Steves' Italy guide? He covers Milan quite well. Also see this sight for background on il Cenacolo as the Italian's call it, http://www.italiannotebook.com/places/santa-maria-delle-grazie/.

Another option would be to save yourself all that time and money and instead go see the masterpiece in Rome by Leonardo's chief rival - Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel. Have a great time!
