Rome to Loro Ciuffenna

Our cruise has us arriving in Rome at 4:30 am on July 22. We have an apartment rented in Loro Ciufenna for several days. Would it be best to rent a car and drive so we can have a car available since this area seems rather remote? If we did take a train, it looks as though the train would not go directly there and would have to find an alternative from Arezzo. Also, we fly out of Rome at the end of our trip so we have to return to Rome anyway. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I stayed in Loro Ciufenna on an RS tour and LOVE LOVE LOVE the town and area. I did some hiking each day.
Yes, I would recommend a car.
