Hi, I used google map to see how to from Rome to Florence on Oct 17 around noon or so no specific time maybe earlier. The routes have the Italio and/or TRENITALIA as the train do I need to reserve ahead of time for this train ride? Thx

you should always buy ticket as early as possible to save money. The train lines prices are very comparable.

You do not HAVE to buy early but it can save you money. Look at www.trainline.eu. It will show you both Italo and Trenitalia options, note early purchas tickets with discounts are non-refundable.
