Hi all,
I am hoping for some advice for our May 2023 trip. I am traveling with my wife and baby who will be 11 months.
We arrive in Rome around 7am. We then need to get to Chianti to check into our accommodations. We end our vacation in Rome. I have researched the options to get there and am a little overwhelmed with what the best option is.
- Rent a car at FCO and drive from there to Chianti
- Train from FCO > Termini > train to Florence > rent a car to Chianti (can we rent a car from Florence train station or would we have to go to the Florence airport?)
- Train from FCO > Termini > train to Orvieto > rent a car to Chianti
Since we will be traveling with our baby, we will have a lot of luggage with us and a car seat. Our flight is also a red eye from the US East Coast.
Which of these three do you think is best? Is there another option I'm not aware of? It seems the easiest option is driving from the Rome airport but I'm not crazy about doing that, but will if that truly is the easiest option.
Thank you for any guidance!
