I would like to travel from Rome to either Pescara or (Atri). Bus, train or rental car; any thoughts? I'd appreciate any feedback.

Hi Sally: My friend and I did this last year...we rented a car in Rome at Ciampino Airport and drove up to Tuscany along the west coast then down towards Pescara. We stopped along the way and were able to stay at some neat motels/hotels. We stayed for over a month and had a great time. We are retired and had the time to do this and we stayed at very reasonable places along the way. Great fun! Now we are planning to do the same thing next year to visit Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sardinia. If you want more info, just contact me through my email. Have fun, Mary [email protected]

Thank you, Mary. How was driving out of Rome; I'm a little concerned about the traffic rules and congestion.
