Rome to Amalfi coast then end in Vienna

We are starting to put together a trip for June. We want to fly into Rome and spend 2 nights there (all of us have been there before), then head to the Amalfi Coast for 3 nights. Our final destination is Vienna, but would like a convenient location to go to for two nights, as we head to Vienna. Some destinations we talked about was: another stop in Italy (Lake Como, Dolomites) or Switzerland. Ideally looking for something that would be straight forward to get to along the way. We have about 11 nights. Looking to spend the last 3-4 nights in Austria.

Where on Amalfi Coast will you stay?

There are direct fast trains from Salerno to Venice
Then Venice to Vienna

Both routes are long 7-8 hours

If you fly into Rome, your first stop will be quite a bit south of there. You second stop will be well north of Rome. You might want to cosider flying into Naples and heading north in a more or less straight line and flying back from Vienna. Or fly into Vienna and go south and return from Naples. I know this might not be possible due to ticket pricing, using airline miles, and so on, but if you can do it, it will eliminate a lot of lost time spent in transit between stops.
