Regarding the Roma pass, If u pre buy tickets for the colosseum, forum and borghgese how does the Roma pass work after the purchase? is it really necessary to pre purchase the coliseum tickets? Thanks JN
For Borghese Gallery - you need a reservation. You can phone ahead to reserve a time. Then when you arrive (at least 30 minutes prior to your entry- to get into the line) you just show your Roma Pass at the ticket counter. - For the Colosseum I did not have reservation time, but just showed my pass at the entry. I was able to go to the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Forum as a single entry on my Roma Pass. I went to Colosseum first, then walked across the street and entered the Palatine Hill, then out the back gate of that venue and entered into the Forum. (Didn't have reservation for any of them.) I guess it depends on the time of year you go as to whether reservations are required/accepted for them. I know that others on this board can answer specifically. They are a wealth of info. Another MUST SEE in this same area is taking the elevator to the top of the
Victor Emmanuel Monument - fabulous 360 degree views of all of Rome - amazing. This is not a Roma Pass venue and I think the elevator ticket was about 6 of 7 Euros?
The romapass is your ticket so you would not want to pre purchase any tickets before getting to Rome. If visiting the borghese gallery you must ca to reserve a time slot when using the OSS. Just let them know you'll use the pass for entry. For the colosseum just show up with the pass when you wish to visit. If you want to take a tour if the colosseum you must call to book it. Let them know you will be using the pass for entry and they will just charge you the cost of the tour. If you book Nd pay for tickets online or over the phone the the romapass becomes wortess for those sites. The sites will it refund the cost of tickets already bought just so you can use the pass. The pass is the entry ticket Donna
