Rome Termini train station - baggage storage

Does anyone have any experience with storing bags at Termini train station? We are checking out of our hotel early morning on way to spending day at Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica. Would like to store bags at train station until our train for Venice later than afternoon. Any comments/tips, etc. appreciated!

Rome Termini does have a staffed left luggage facility on the lower level. Very safe. About 4E per bag. Expect lines to drop off and pick up. If you have reservations on an afternoon high-speed, make sure you get back to the left luggage facility in time to pickup your luggage. Again, expect the lines.

If you hotel is convenient, then leave your luggage with the hotel.

There are pictures and more info on the Roma Termini Luggage here... or if you have carry-on only, the Vatican Museums also have a checked-bag function.

Ron, will CJ be able to get back to the Vatican Museums after St. Peter's without buying another ticket? I don't know if St. Peter's has baggage storage.

I don't remember any bag storage at St Peters Basilica, unless it is near the toilets. Once you have left the Vatican Museums you are out, regardless if you go to the Basilica. Once you have left the Museums you need a new ticket to go back in.

The cloakroom for the Vatican Museums is downstairs, adjacent to the X-ray units so NO ticket necessary to go into this area; The ticket purchasing and entry-point are upstairs. There is, as mentioned, a left luggage area adjacent to the toilets in the visitor center at St. Peter's Basilica. I'd ride the 62/64 bus to the Vatican area, drop my luggage at St. Peters, and walk around to the museums if I planned to use the "shortcut" out of the Sistine Chapel. Of course, if my hotel is convenient to either the train station or the Vatican area, like Frank, I'd leave my stuff there. Its free (usually) and I don't have to haul my luggage around town nor wait in line to check it.
