Hi I am being lazy so I apologize. Staying in a hotel near Rome termini and wondering if there is a tram line that is a 'sightseeing one' ...goes around the main sights. I see a reference to bus 100.
Seco d question...from vatican museum to Rome termini bus number or tram number.
Sorry ordinarily I look this up myself but this trip is a little challenging Thanks
Termini has a tram station, but that line doesn't go to the Vatican. Rome's trams tend to take you into (or out of) the city, but not within it.
We found Rome's 40 and 64 bus routes to be ideal for tourists, running between Termini and just outside the Vatican walls, past many sights.
You can see where the buses, trams and metro lines go on this map:

Buses are one of the easiest and efficient ways to get around Rome. Without them, you'll walk yourself to death.
It's also important to stay close to the travel sites you want to see. We have stayed close to the San Pietro/Ottaviano underground station which is just a short walk from the Vatican Museum and maybe about 500 yards from St. Peters. The underground is a straight shot to/from Termini too.
We stayed out in the suburbs last June, and the resort hotel would call taxi's for us. They'd be there in 2 minutes or so. The rooms were less expensive than in the city center, but going back and forth was expensive.
I think they're already in Rome; arriving today from Naples.
Diane, hope your Dad is feeling almost back to normal. :O)
We got a hope on and off. If you're standing in front of the train station it's a block or two off to the left
