Rome Sunday dinner time

We will be in Rome Sunday 13 October. We realize a good number of restaurants are closed Sunday. Is there a traditional Sunday dinner time at the restaurants that are open? Thanks

I don't know an exact time, but I have happy memories of strolling along in the Trastevere neighborhood and seeing a restaurant with outdoor tables, filled with families enjoying Sunday afternoon dinner. It was the kind of restaurant that doesn't have a printed menu, you just tell the waiter what you want or point to what you see on someone else's table. It was fabulous. The time of day was probably around 1 PM if I remember correctly.

Not so many Sunday closures as Italians eat out, too. The ghetto, in particular, is a good choice on Sunday. Usually Italians eat lunch later than North Americans so 1300 is a fair time. I do see many restaurants that don’t open until 1230. Evening meal hours are 1930 and later. Again, many restaurants won’t be open until 1930.

A reservation is often advisable for either meal,
