We are trying to get hold of a map or diagram of this market, but have had no luck thus far. The official site does not include any indication where each booth is located. Might anyone here have any idea as to where one could locate such a map? We know about the color-coded layout chart (blue for seafood, red for butchers etc) but are curious to see a detailed chart showing where say, booth #102 is located.
It is a market and made to wander. As a tourist that is part of the appeal. I suppose if you are a local you may go straight to the appropriate booth and buy your stuff, but as an Italian market experience the point is to wander the aisles. I have been to many, many markets all over the world and that is the way it is. That is the experience.
I vaguely recall such a map on the wall at Mercato Trionfale (my favorite in Rome) but it has been eight years since we were last there. It is a wonderful market for wandering, watching, snacking, and sampling.
Treemouse, please could you explain how we might best remove our luggage off the airport carousel thing? We had such trouble last time! Ended up paying a passerby to heave them off for us.
