Linda, We first ate at Hostaria da Nerone in 2006 when we were staying at Hotel lancelot. The owner recommended it and we go there every time in Rome. Last trip to Rome we were wallking around and decided to go by there. It was too early to eat, even for us, but we chatted with the waiter, we wanted to come back the next evening. He said they were closed on Sunday, so we told him we would come back for dinner on Monday. Monday evening he saw us walking a block away and got our table ready. There are inside tables and like many places in Rome, they set up tables on the sidewalk. I always eat the veal there and order a side dish of "carciofi a la Romano" steamed artichoke heart" I'm not much of a shopper, but when we have a nice meal in a restaurant that we enjoy in Europe, if they have a logo plate, I ask if I can buy 1 plate. The waiter here was tickled and he wrapped one up for me and wouldn't let me pay for it. It's on a plate stand with my other European trip plates! I hope you enjoy it!

I haven't eaten at Da Giovanni, but one good sign I see is that their website is in Italian only. And their menu shows that they specialize in local traditional Roman cuisine. I might have to put that one on our list for our trip next year.
