Rome/Paris by Night tour - suggestions to do or not

We will be visiting both Rome and Paris and wondering if Night tour would be a good option in either of the cities ? Any personal preference one over the other ?

Hello! Well you do not say what time of year you are going, who is in your party, etc. All of those would be factored in my decision. However, BOTH cities are lovely at night, truly. Depending on weather or time of year I might suggested a night Seine cruise coordinated to catch the "on the hour" twinkly light display at the Eiffel tower. Personally we ARE doing a night tour of Rome this August because, well, it's going to be August and I thought it might be more enjoyable and less steamy (fingers crossed).

In 2013 we used Paris Authentic, recommended by Rick, to take nighttime tour of the city. It was in mid August, the city was very empty, and the experience was outstanding.

We travel in Italy every year and travel in the evening by taxi, so that is our nighttime tour.

If it's on your bucket list...do it.!

Buon viaggio,

Both cities are wonderful at night. If you want to take an organized "night tour," you can certainly do so. But lots of locals are out and about all over the centers of both cities, so you can also just do it on your own.

In Paris, my favorite night tourism activities are a Seine cruise, going up the Arc de Triomphe for the views of the city (free with Museum Pass), and going to the Trocadero to see the Eiffel Tower. In Rome, just wander around the center after dinner (all the Romans will be doing the same!) or follow Rick's Night Walk Across Rome (in his books).

As for which is better - I love them both at night, and can't choose a favorite.
