Rome Opera 2018 - Best Day to Attend?

My daughter and I will be in Rome during the performance of Carmen at the Baths of the Caracalla, July and August 2018. Is it better to go on a Tuesday or a Sunday? We'll be staying within walking distance.

Why does it matter which day you go? A performance is a performance no matter what day they perform. What does matter is what you plan to do the day of the performance. I assume the performance is in the evening? If you are doing a day trip or if you are going to be out and about all day far from your hotel, you will need to give yourself some time to get back to your hotel to refreshner up and have a bite to eat and then walk to the opera. I would plan it around what you plan to do that day as to which day is better regarding the opera. I would plan the day to make sure you can get back in time and not be in a rush to go to the opera and have something to eat. You don't want to be hungary during the opera. And you don't want to be too tired or rushed.

Have a great time! I have been to Rome several times, but never to an opera in Rome. That will be so nice.

It will likely be sold out both days, so it shouldn't matter.

What a great opportunity. Wish we could go. . . .

I wonder if they will do the production of Carmen we saw in Venice in 2013. It was in modern dress, with other updated visuals (the smugglers carried Amazon delivery boxes).

Thanks! I chose the Tuesday option. The Opera starts about 9:00 pm. I ordered tickets directly from the Opera company - the site is in Italian - Google translate to the rescue!

Have a wonderful time, Jennifer! I attended the opera in Venice two years ago and have a ticket to the opera in the Verona Roman arena this summer. It doubles the excitement to be able to attend while in Europe!

Well, in case google translate wasn't accurate enough, the website www.operaroma.it has got an english version. Just click EN on the bottom right corner. BTW Tuesday or Sunday shouldn't matter, I see no reasons to prefer a specific day.
I love the opera, yet I failed to plan an evening at Caracalla. I was told from a couple of friends of mine that the Caracalla experience is exceptional.

Thank you!

I knew there must be an English version! It was actually kind of fun to try to use the Italian site...although I did use translate when it came to checking the boxes and paying!
