Im traveling to Rome, arriving on All Saints Day. Will most places be opened or closed that day?
It's a government holiday, so public offices and schools will be closed. Some businesses may close, but likely not those, or restaurants, that cater to tourists.
We arrived 10/31/23 - observed a few kids strolling around in costume. On 11/1 it appeared to be business as usual - at least for tourists. We had tickets for the Borghese in the afternoon - maybe the line for walkups was longer due to the holiday. We then took the Metro (crowded) to Termini, had a light dinner at Mercato Centrale (also crowded) then took the Metro to the Colosseum for the moonlight tour.
The holiday may have been a factor in the large crowds we encountered over the next few days.
