Rome night walking tours

I noticed that Rick has two evening walking tours in Rome. Has anyone done any guided tours and how do they compare to Rick's audio tours? Thanks for the info.

I'm not sure if you'll find someone who has done both. I, personally, prefer audio guides over tour guides. I like being able to go at my own pace, start and stop when I wish and the fact that they cost much less than a tour guide. If I see an interesting shop along the way I like to be able to stop in and look around, same thing if I find an interesting restaurant or a great coffee shop. If you have ipods I would suggest the audio guides but it's really a personal choice and you should do what you're more comfortable with. I can tell you that Rome is a very easy city to walk and with a good map you can have a really wonderful time exploring on your own. For other great downloadable guides I like pocketvox. They have great tours of Rome and I believe they also have tours of Florence, though I haven't used those yet.

I've worked with "Rome Walks" (recommended in Rick's books). They offer a really nice two hour "Twilight Rome Walk" for just 25 Euro per person. Small groups, great guides. I liked walking with a person who knows and loves the city, answered our questions, etc..
