Rome - Need for Advanced Tickets At End of October

We will be in Rome October 28-31. We have advance tickets for everything we know we will need, but are wondering about the Pantheon and the Catacombs along the Appian Way. We have tried to purchase advance tickets for the Pantheon, however the web site is not functioning properly and will not complete the purchase. Would advanced tickets be necessary on October 29th?

Also, is it necessary to obtain advanced tickets for the catacombs. We had planned that day as a kind of wandering day without any specific times.

Thank you all for your help.

We are leaving for Rome next week. Based on suggestions on this forum, I did book advance tickets for the Pantheon. I do not think they are required, but it sounds like it will save time. The ticket purchasing was indeed complicated. I had two credit cards fail to process as well as trying through PayPal. I went onto Reddit and found the solution. You have to choose the right payment processor. The default ones were the problem. It worked for me when I used my Visa and paid through NEXI PAYMENTS S.P.A.. Give that a try. It has something to do with being an approved processor for American cards.

So select your tickets, fill in your names/emails, click "Proceed to Payment," select pay with credit card, enter your card info, and then on the next page you should be able to switch the processor to NEXI and then hopefully that'll work.

For this time of year, you don't need advanced tickets for the catacombs on the Appian Way.

Thank you for the help. I believe the Web site, or the ecommerce portion thereof, is down. Once you enter your credit card info and hit continue, the site just delivers a blank page - no options for credit card processors. Paypal delivered an error message as well.

Appian way doesn't ask a ticket. For Catacombs, its dependson which catacomb you are visiting. That said, most you can just show up to and join the next group going down. They are pretty regular.
