Rome-Naples train input

Hello everyone, had a fabulous trip with daughter to Vienna, Dubrovnik and then Rome and back home to Canada last month, and now planning the Sept trip with bro and SIL. Landing in Rome, and the plan is to hop on the train at the airport , go to Rome and immediately on to Naples. As we land at 11am, we have plenty of time to train to Naples. My question is - from Rome, best train to Naples and how soon should I book..or should I book in advance? Yikes….

Since this trip is the same day your plane lands, you don’t want to book in advance, in case of a flight delay. There will be many, many trains, so there should be no problem.

lnbsig said many, many so I looked

If you arrive at Roma Termini at 13:30, there are 7 trains departing between 14:00 and 15:00

That looks like many, many, many

I recall we bought tickets on the Trenitalia app

Have fun!

Install both Italotreno's and Trenitalia's apps. There is free wifi at fco, while waiting for luggage buy online a FCO-Termini ticket on trenitalia's than compare the prices of the second leg. 20 minutes to transfer at Termini should be enough.

Do NOT buy full price tickets in advance (Flexi and Base).

We recently took the Express train from the airport to the train terminal and then a train on to Naples. It was super easy and comfortable.

When looking for the App for Trenitalia, I get Trenit! Is this the same as mentioned above. Just want to be sure I have the right App installed on my phone.

The app, at least on my Ipad, is called Trenìt!.
It shows you both Italo and Trenitalia trains.
When you go to buy, it clicks you through to lefrecce.it or Italo sites to actually buy the tickets.

There Could be differently named apps for Android or newer Apple devices.

Just be sure the Trenit!! App is giving you the full schedule with the 2 train companies
I’m guessing it is a 3rd party vendor

As posted above both have their own specific apps

I have on iPad and iPhone
I set up my accounts on the websites on my desktop
